Fed up with big social media ? treelee explains all !
How I got here: I’ve been noticing content from prominent sceptics of the recent geo-political manouevring. Simultaneously I’ve been getting fed up with current social media interaction, and even getting banned on UKC climbing forums. So here we are :)
I’m not interested in financial support, just bypass requests for money. However it does rate my posts higher if you give away an email address for free subscription.
For me, Substack is just a (hopefully) better means of social networking, one which will push me to phrase words meaningfully, and share content with likeminded individuals.
Why ‘treelee’ you may ask ? Well, I have spent a lot of time with trees: research, planning, planting, grafting, pruning and full on surgery in the tree tops. I did also complete a year’s formal study to obtain the Royal Forestry Society ‘Diploma in Arboriculture’. Thus, a good friend used treelee on me as a nickname once, and I am happy to deploy it as a URL handle.
I am fortunate to have 8 acres of land in SW France, where I have planted maybe 1000 trees. These include fruit and nut trees, of which many are also grafted for better fruiting. Otherwise many varieties of ornamentals, chosen for their interest, or sited for the benefit of shade. I also manage natural woodland regeneration on parts of the property for which there is no other immediate use.
